Editing “Your Story” – Groundbreaking Youth Faith Research

Recently, I’ve been editing the report for the “Your Story” research, undertaken by Converge Oceania. It’s been a lot of fun, and right up my alley. Your Story is ground breaking Australian research, exploring the spiritual experiences, beliefs and influences that are shaping the faith of young people.

Thanks to Rowan Lewis and Graham Stanton for the great work they’ve done on this project.

The team had written a fairly large academic report, and also a shorter report for lay audiences. They asked me to proofread the large report in preparation for publication, and then substantially edit the shorter report to make it “punchier”.

I’m Dave Fagg

I’ve been a writer ever since my dad let me copy out letters to my Nanna on his manual typewriter.

My specialties are editing, writing grants and reports, and consulting in the nonprofit sector, particularly youth, community, and faith-based organisations. I also do contract research work such as literature reviews, qualitative interviews and analysis, and editing of academic writing.

My experience in teaching, youth work, and community work has developed excellent communication skills, an enthusiasm for deadlines, and the ability to listen to what clients really want, as well as what they need.
